Heritage & Design

Staff are working on updating the Core Area Design Guidelines and will be garnering input from the Town's Design Review Committee & Heritage Committee before these are presented to the Planning Advisory Committee and Council.

The Town's Residential Architectural Design Guidelines are not included in the scope of this project but will be updated as a future project to align with the adopted policies of the Municipal Planning Strategy and Land Use By-law.

County & Province

Councils in the our region have recently passed motions in support of the 'Statements of Regional Interest' and Town Staff are working on integrating these into Part 1 of the forthcoming Draft 2 of the MPS. The Provincial Statements of Interest must be considerations in any Municipal Planning Strategy and have been a guide in policy development to-date.

Click to view the Agenda Package or Minutes from the June 18th, 2017 meeting of Council where the Statements of Regional Interest were discussed and adopted.
