Employment Opportunity: Environmental Educator

The Town of Wolfville, in partnership with Mud Creek Rotary, is piloting a summer initiative in the area of environment education and engagement. As such, the Town is inviting applications for one (1) summer position with the Parks and Recreation Department to lead this exciting teaching and learning opportunity. The applicant will be developing, promoting and leading several environmental education initiatives and community engagement programs. Primary to this will be the facilitation of a number of new summer day camps - themed in developing environmental awareness and literacies. Applicants must be highly motivated, demonstrate a commitment to environmental education, have the ability to work independently as well as work within a team environment. The successful candidate:

• will work closely with the Parks and Recreation staff
• will have experience leading and facilitating environmental learning  opportunities
• will have an environmental based education and understanding and  adherence to risk management best practices
• will have demonstrated experience working with youth and program  development
• will have a valid driver’s license and follow all applicable Provincial  and Town Occupational Health & Safety Policies and Procedures
• will also be required to provide current Criminal and Child Abuse  Registry checks
