Flower Pressing

Flower pressing is a very fun, creative, and relaxing way to get to know different flower, fern, and leaf species. It engages the mind and the hands while allowing people to gather and chat together at the same time.

At this event, participants will be walked through the steps of flower pressing and able to select and press their own flowers, as well as craft-making with pre-pressed flowers. Flowers need to be pressed for 7 days, so participants will need to collect their creations after the event.

Accessibility note: the entrance to the Wolfville Rec Room remains locked, however prior to the start of the program, the door will be open to let participants in. This door is wheelchair accessible. If more space is required, we can accommodate for that using the retracting windows.

Street parking is available on Victoria Avenue, and accessible parking is available in front of the Rec Centre.

Unfortunately, gender neutral washrooms are not available at this location, but participants may use whichever washroom they feel most comfortable in.

This is a free event, there are no costs to participate. All supplies needed will be provided by Rec staff, and beverages will also be present (allergies noted on registration forms will always be considered).

This is low sensory-input event, however we invite you to bring ear coverings or headphones (as well as any other fidget toy or stimming device) that would make you most comfortable.

If you have any questions, comments, or concerns related to all things accessibility, please reach out to Maria at events@wolfville.ca.

Masks are not required, but you are more than welcome to wear one if you choose to.
