These social dances originate from Cuba, The Dominican Republic, and Angola, and are a lot of fun to learn! They can be danced in social settings all over the world (including right there in Wolfville!) and will come in handy the next time you attend a wedding or take off on a Caribbean vacation.

Did you know that Latin dancing can improve cardiovascular endurance, muscle strength, flexibility, and balance ability, and that it is an effective exercise for weight loss? This style of dancing is known to provide an immense sense of joy and emotional freedom that can also reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety, improve cognitive function, improve mood and social connection, and reduce feelings of loneliness.
