Film Screening: Sugarcane; The Unforgotten; Indian Horse

Sugarcane, an award-winning documentary. Director's statement: "From the outset, we knew that SUGARCANE needed to convey how the past is present for the survivors of residential schools and their descendants."

The Unforgotten is a shot documentary film with funding and support from the Canadian Medical Association. Although many overtly racist policies have been reappealed since Confederation, their legacy continues to affect Indigenous peoples' health and well-being.

Indian Horse, an adaptation of Ojibway writer Richard Wagamese's award-winning novel, this profoundly-moving drama sheds light on the dark history of Canada's "Indian Residential "schools"" and the indomitable spirit of Indigenous peoples.

Everyone is welcome and all the film screenings are free.
