Soups and Sides

The third Monday in January is called “Blue Monday.” It’s known as the saddest day of the year.

While it’s not scientific, Blue Monday is in January, when the sun is noticeably absent, the holiday hangover persists, and it can be a time when we all need a boost of community care.

Soups and Sides is a great way to get out for a hearty meal, to meet some new folks and to celebrate what a great, caring community we share.

To boost the mood and to provide additional cheer on this dreary day, Acadia University will be serving-up some cake for our dessert!

Drop by the Wolfville Farmers’ Market from 5 – 6:30pm on Monday, January 20 to join the fun. It’s warm, free, and welcoming. Plus – cake!

Guests are welcome to make a voluntary donation to support the sustainability of the program, but this is not a requirement. Everyone is welcome.

The program was initially developed by Acadia students and is supported by the Town, Acadia University and the Wolfville Farmers’ Market to help people build relationships while enjoying equitable access to delicious food, prepared by our community chef, Ayzhia Beaton.

Two soups will be offered each week, with a plant-based choice always available.
