Employment Opportunity: Director of Community Wellbeing

The Town of Wolfville is inviting applications for a full-time, permanent Director of Community Wellbeing. Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), this role provides strategic leadership for the Town’s community-focused priorities and programs, including recreation, community safety, and community & economic development. The Director contributes to the Town’s leadership while operationalizing plans and strategies into effective programs and services.

This position leads a team within the Department of Community Wellbeing and provides strategic advice to the CAO and Council on matters related to community safety, recreation, and development. You will also contribute to corporate planning and cross-departmental initiatives, while working closely with staff, Council, and community partners such as Acadia University, the Wolfville Business Development Corporation, and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. This role offers the opportunity to shape programs and services that enhance wellbeing, belonging, and quality of life in the Wolfville community.

We are seeking candidates with a university degree in a related field and significant experience in public sector leadership, including team leadership, project management, and program delivery. The ability to “juggle multiple priorities” is essential; please tell us about your “juggling” experience with leading teams, managing projects, and implementing strategic initiatives in your cover letter.
