The Town of Wolfville is inviting applications for a permanent, full-time Operator/Labourer Class 1 in our Public Works Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating equipment and completing labourer duties as required for the continued delivery of municipal services.
Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager, the successful candidate will be self-motivated and work well within a team environment.
Candidates should have a minimum grade 12 education (or GED), the physical ability and fitness to perform moderate to heavy physical tasks, and a valid class 3 Nova Scotia driver’s license (with air brake endorsement).
This position is 40 hours per week, generally Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 16:00, with overtime and alternate shifts as dictated by operational requirements. The Town has an established shift pattern for work during the winter.
The hourly wage for this position is currently $27.91, per the collective agreement between the Town of Wolfville and Service Employees International Union, Local 2.
