The Town of Wolfville is forming an Active Transportation Working Group to make sure our future Active Transportation Network meets the needs of our community.

Working Group members will work with Town staff and consultants as our Active Transportation Network is built. Working Group members will be required to attend regular Working Group meetings, to review documents and attend related events.

We are now seeking expressions of interest from community members who would like to join the Working Group. You should have an interest in active transportation, as well as an interest in working collaboratively with other community members, and an interest in working with the Town on this exciting project.

Your expression of interest should include an introduction of yourself (2-3 sentences), a description of your relevant skills, lived experience and your relationship to Wolfville (1-2 paragraphs). 

Working Group goals include: 

• Working with Staff and the consultant to review detailed drawings (including hard infrastructure and wayfinding/branding),
• Support Staff by socializing the network among community members using educational materials and championing the work and,
• Support Staff with public engagement work.

The Town of Wolfville welcomes expressions of interest from Black, racialized and Indigenous Peoples, 2SLGBTQ+, newcomers to Canada, and People with Disabilities. The first meeting of the working group will be held during the first two weeks of January 2024.

Working Group members will be asked to serve a 1.5 to 2-year term, that will end when all ICIP funded projects are tender-ready. The term may be extended to when the network is completed or beyond.

Roadwork will be happening on Wednesday, December 6, on Pleasant Street, between Hillside and Evangeline Court. 

Traffic control will be in place.

Please be advised that Hillside Ave, between Bay St and Prospect St, will be closed December 6th, 2023, from 800am till approximately 400pm.

Public Works and Water Utilities crews will be carrying out sewer and waterline repairs, and anticipate no water disruption in the area.

Detours will be in place at both Prospect St and Bay St for vehicle traffic to be re-directed. Pedestrians are also asked to use caution in the area due to the vehicles and equipment performing the work.

Starting on Wednesday, December 6, University Avenue will be closed to thru traffic from Park Street to Skyway Drive.

Work will continue all week so water main repairs can be completed.

Planned Water Interruption Pleasant Street

Beginning at 8:30 am on Friday, December 1, 2023, and continuing until approximately 4:30pm pm, there will be a planned water service interruption affecting residents on Pleasant Street from Riverview Avenue to Hillside Avenue including all of Evangeline Court.

Residents are advised to stockpile the necessary water needed for this period before 8:30 am, Friday, December 1, 2023. 

Once service is re-established you may experience some discoloured water. If so, you can flush your system by running the cold water for several minutes. This will help eliminate any dirt and air that may have gotten into the lines during the upgrade. It’s best to flush through a tap without a strainer such as a bathtub tap or outside hose bib.

The Town of Wolfville apologizes for any inconvenience and appreciates your patience and understanding as we make repairs to the watermain. 

The Public Information Meeting (PIM) relating to a rezoning application for a section of Rotary Park (7 Victoria Ave) has been postponed until the new year (date is yet to be determined).

Only those within 100 metres of Rotary Park will receive letters regarding the rescheduled date.

Elm Ave will be closed on Saturday, November 25, from 2 - 8pm, from Front to Main to provide safe space for our annual holiday kick-off, Night of Lights.
