Trail Closure Notice: Harvest Moon Trail

Please be advised that on Thursday, October 9 and Friday, October 10, the Harvest Moon Trail will be closed between the Farmer's Market and Elm Avenue. This temporary closure is necessary while crews carry out work along the tree line in that area.

We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we continue to make improvements to the trail.

There will be a detour affecting Main Street on Sunday, October 12, from 7:15 AM to 10:00 AM.

Vehicles heading west bound will be detoured at Gaspereau Avenue to Pleasant Street, then onto Skyway Drive, and Stirling Avenue, before returning to Main Street. Vehicles heading eastbound from 8:15 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. will be detoured at Wickwire Ave to Grandview Dr to Skyway Dr to Pleasant St and then Gaspereau Ave before returning to Main Street.

On Sunday, October 12, the following road closures will be in place:

Front Street from Harbourside Drive to Elm Avenue
8:00 AM to 9 AM

There is limited parking available at Acadia University, as well as on-street parking and designated parking lots throughout Wolfville. We kindly ask that participants do not park in any church parking lots. 

The section of Harvest Moon Trail that runs through Wolfville’s downtown is being re-built to provide a safer, visually pleasing, linear parkway for those who wish to roll and stroll through Town.

Starting on Thursday, October 9, work includes a new 3-metre-wide concrete parkway that will run from the West end of the Wolfville Farmers’ Market to the intersection of Front and Harbourside Drive.

The remaining greenspace will be cleaned-up, levelled and landscaped and the original railway tracks will be topped with crusher dust, to provide another surface for folks moving through Town.

The trail work happening beside the Wolfville Farmers’ Market will include brush clearing. Seating and lighting will also be added as the project progresses.

Trail crossings at Elm and Harbourside will be better defined and well marked, increasing safety for both trail users and motorists. The sidewalk at Harbourside will also be connected to the existing sidewalk on Front Street.

The improvements in this corridor are intended to connect to the Main Street bike lanes, at the Recreation Hub, at 282 Main Street, at the East end of Waterfront Park. To the West, the trail will also re-connect with Main Street.

This new parkway will provide more space for people to safety share the trail and enjoy the Town’s active transportation network, which is being built to support safer rolling and strolling throughout our community.

With the Canada Post strike continuing, the Town is making efforts to connect folks with their water utility bills. Bills are now available at Town Hall and are due on or before November 21. 

If you are able to drop-by and collect you bill, Town Hall, 359 Main Street, is open weekdays from 8:30am - 4:30pm.

Payment Options

• Online through your bank.  When paying online please allow at least 4 business days for your payment to reach us.
• Drop-Off Slot – A secure drop-off slot is located to the right of the Town Hall front door (no cash please).
• Pre-Authorized Payment – You need to complete a form and provide us with a VOID cheque (or the form that can be printed off your bank’s website) to have the full amount of your Property tax bill or your water/sewer bill automatically deducted from your bank account by us, on the due date of the bills.  For Property Taxes we also offer a monthly payment plan which starts in October to build up enough of a credit to pay the two tax bills in the following year.
• In Town Hall – by cash, cheque or Interac Debit.

Excavation for Service Installation End Date.

The Wolfville Public Works Department wishes to advise residents that there will be no excavation for the installation of Water and Sewer after October 31.

Installation of services will resume in June 2026 when weather conditions permit.

Notice of Water Main Flushing

Please be advised that the Hydrant Flushing has been cancelled for the 2025 season.

The parking lot at Reservoir Park will be closed Thursday, October 2, 2025. Park trails and Reservoir Park will remain open.
