Emergency road work will be happening in front of Landmark East School starting on Tuesday, March 18. Traffic will be reduced to a single lane and road users are asked to use caution when driving by the active work site. Traffic control will be in place.

This work is anticipated to be completed by the end of the week.

The sidewalk closure beginning on March 13, 2025 ongoing until the end of October will affect the sidewalk on the north side of Main Street in front of 292 Main Street between the south-west corner of the property, and the west side of the crosswalk to Willow Avenue.

The portion from here to the driveway east of the construction site shall remain open and protected by a covered way.

The project is located at the Wolfville Wastewater Treatment Plant on Old Dyke Lane at 256 Main Street, in Wolfville, NS (Kings County). The work generally includes, but is not necessarily limited to: clearing & grubbing, mass excavation & embankment, site grading, replacement of existing aeration system, berm construction, lagoon liner system, QA/QC, pipework, manholes, blower building, process mechanical, building mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, controls, testing, start-up, commissioning, erosion & sediment control, dewatering, temporary set-ups, reinstatement, management of safe worksite, and coordination with operations staff.

The Town of Wolfville is inviting applications for one (1) full-time (permanent seasonal) Parks Labourer with the Parks and Recreation Department. This position is part of the Service Employees International Union Local 2 and is eligible to participate in the Town’s Employee Benefits plan. 

Responsibilities include carrying out land and hardscaping, general maintenance on all Town maintained green spaces, parks and trail, and other maintenance and event set-up duties as required. 

The position requires 40 hours per week and may include evenings and weekends. A valid class 5 driver’s license is required. Work season typically starts in April and finishes in October.
