Water will be shut off for a section of Olsen Drive on Monday, Dec. 22 so staff can repair a leaking valve. This work will take place between 8am and 4pm

Winter Parking Regulations & Parking Enforcement

The Winter Parking Regulations take effect on December 1st  through to March 31st. This happens every year in the Town of Wolfville.

This means that no cars can be parked on the streets of Wolfville, or in public lots, from 12:01am to 6:00am during these months.

If you require overnight parking, on a temporary basis, you can use the parking lot across from Willow Park. Cars parked in the East End Gateway Lot, on a temporary basis, will not be ticketed. 

The parking ban also comes into effect one hour after the start of a snow event and runs until two hours after the snow event has stopped. This helps our snow removal crews get the roads salted and plowed.

There are exemptions for physicians, fire and police while carrying out their official duties as well as for operators of commercial vehicles while loading and unloading. 

As per Section 139 of the Motor Vehicle Act, vehicles obstructing snow removal or winter maintenance will be removed at the owner’s expense.

On behalf of Town Council and the Town of Wolfville, I extend our deepest condolences on the passing of former Mayor Bob Wrye.

Bob Wrye served his community with dedication, integrity, and a deep belief in public service. Bob began his “Town service” as a member of Town  Council while attending Acadia University as an undergraduate student.

During his time as Mayor, he helped guide Wolfville through important moments of growth and change, always with a steady hand and a genuine care for the people he served.

Lowering the flags to half-mast is a visible sign of our respect and gratitude for Bob’s contributions to our town. His commitment to community, thoughtful leadership, and willingness to step forward in service will be remembered with appreciation.

We extend our heartfelt sympathies to Bob’s family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of working alongside him. Wolfville is better because of his service, and his legacy will remain part of our shared story.

Robert (Bob) Alan Wrye was elected to Council in 1970 and served as Mayor from 1976 - 79, then again as Deputy Mayor from 1995 - 2008. Bob was also active at Acadia. He graduated from Acadia in 1971 and was President of the Students Union.

In 1980 he was the first chair of the Wolfville Business Development Corporation. Bob was elected as the President of the Union of Nova Scotia Municipalities in 2007-8. 

Bob served as treasurer St. John’s Anglican Church for over 30 years and had a long career working in the insurance industry.
