Ian Palmeter has won the Special Election for Councillor in the Town of Wolfville.

At the end of polling on December 10, the unofficial vote count was as follows:

  1. Ian Palmeter: 505
  2. Mercedes Brian: 397
  3. Noel McQueen: 164

The results will be finalised after the Official Additions on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, and Palmeter will be sworn in at a special meeting of Town Council in late December.

The Town thanks the candidates who put their names forward to run. The Town also thanks all who participated in the Special Election.

The Special Election was called after an unanticipated vacancy occurred on the Council, after a resignation, on September 27.

HIGHLAND AVENUE PROJECT UPDATE

December 7, 2022

With concrete and asphalt work planned for the coming days, residents within the affected section of Highland Ave are reminded that vehicular access to driveways will be impacted daily and limited to times outside of contractor working hours.      

The contractor is closing Highland Avenue from Catherine Court to Pleasant Street starting at 7:00am on Friday, December 9, 2022, and it will remain closed until Monday December 12, 2022, to allow for concrete work.

Vehicle access will also be restricted during the application of asphalt paving.  

Residents are reminded to contact Public Works at kouterleys@wolfville.ca to secure temporary parking passes if required.
