On behalf of the Town I want to offer our heartfelt condolences to the family who has lost a child. As a mother I can only imagine what a difficult time this is and want them to know that our hearts are with them.
I’d also like to thank our first responders – the Wolfville Fire Department, support also from the Hantsport Fire Department as part of our mutual aid agreement, Town of Wolfville staff, Acadia staff, the RCMP and the Annapolis Valley Ground Search and Rescue teams. Last night was a difficult time for them and you have our gratitude and support during what I know will also, for you, be difficult days ahead.
As a community I hope we can come together and support the family who has experienced a terrible loss, and all those who played a role in the recovery effort.
The weather events our communities are experiencing are beyond what has been our norm. Responding to them will take all of us as we anticipate and respond to this new reality.
But in this particular moment our thoughts are with the child’s family and those who worked so diligently into the early morning responding to this emergency.
