Wolfville prepares for Special Election to fill Council vacancy

A special election has been called to fill a vacancy on Council. The nomination period closed at the end of day on November 15 and there are now 3 (three) candidates on the ballot.

Candidates:

  • Mercedes BRIAN
  • Noel McQUEEN
  • Ian PALMETER

Voter qualifications

You will be able to vote in Wolfville’s special election if you meet the following criteria:

  • You are 18 years of age or older and a Canadian citizen on or before the first advance poll day (December 1, 2022);
  • You have been ordinarily resident in Nova Scotia for 6 months before the first advance poll day (since June 1, 2022); and
  • You are ordinarily resident in the Town of Wolfville and have been so since immediately before the first advance poll day (as of December 1, 2022).

By casting a ballot or by entering the electronic voting system and entering your assigned PIN number, you are declaring that you are eligible to vote in this election.

Voting

Wolfville will be using a hybrid voting system that provides internet, phone or in-person options for returning your ballot. The electronic voting period (internet and phone) runs from December 1 to December 9, 2022.

To vote by paper ballot, please visit the following location during the listed hours:

The Lions Club – 36 Elm Ave. Wolfville

Election Day, December 10, from 8:00am – 7:00pm

Your voter’s letter will be mailed on Tuesday, November 22. It contains your unique PIN and instructions for online and phone voting.
