The Light Up Kings holiday display map will return for the 2025 season Dec. 1.

Fans of holiday lights can share photos of their displays and/or use the map to find merry and bright sights in Kings County.

Residents of the Municipality of the County of Kings and the Towns of Berwick, Kentville, and Wolfville are invited to upload photos of their festive displays to the online map.

Visit www.countyofkings.ca/lightupkings as of Dec. 1 to use the map to:
•Upload photos of your holiday display for the enjoyment of others and/or a chance to win a prize.
•Plot out routes and destinations for holiday light-seeing tours in the Kings Region.
•Admire holiday displays in Kings County from near or afar using the digital map as a guide.

Prizes will be awarded for residential entries in the following categories:
•Traditionally Elegant
•Merry and Bright
•Town-specific Prizes

Prizes for commercial business entries in the categories:
•Unique Holiday Display
•Inclusive Holiday Display

Participants wanting to take part in the competition are asked to submit their pictures by no later than Dec. 18. Winners will be contacted directly.

The downtown Wolfville section of the Harvest Moon Trail that runs between Elm and Harbourside will be closed from Friday, November 28 through Wednesday, December 3.

This closure provides time and space to pour the new concrete trail as well as the time required for the concrete to cure. 

Trail users are asked to please detour along Front Street for the duration of the closure.

After months of study, community engagement and a pilot in Reservoir Park, Wolfville's Council has supported a time of day, seasonal approach to the off leash privilege in Wolfville's most popular park.

In accordance with Section 4 of Wolfville's Dog Control By-law, between October 1 and May 31, dogs must remain on leash from 10am to 4pm.

Between June 1 and September 30, dogs much remain on leash from 10am to 7pm.

These new off leash hours are intended to provide safe and enjoyable use of the park for all people.

Signs posted in Reservoir Park communicate these new changes.
