The streets listed have now all been milled. Paving will commence  during the week of December 9, 2024, weather permitted.

All streets will have traffic control in place please use caution when travelling in the area.

The contractors will start on Prince Street, followed by the south end Westwood Avenue then Sherwood Drive, Main Street to Woodland Drive .

With challenging weather forecast over the next couple of months, Town crews are scheduled to be working on the task of managing snow and ice removal to keep roads and sidewalks as safe as possible.

Vehicles left on the road or parked on driveways, blocking sidewalks, create barriers to snow removal.

Wolfville's Winter Parking Ban is now in effect until March 31. This means that no cars can be parked on the streets of Wolfville from 12:01am to 6:00am and from one hour after the start of a snow event to two hours after the snow event has stopped. Additional restrictions may apply. Please review full regulations for details.

There are exemptions for physicians, fire and police while carrying out their official duties as well as for operators of commercial vehicles while loading and unloading. 

Because removing the snow and applying salt is critical for the safety of our community, and as per Section 139 of the Motor Vehicle Act, vehicles obstructing snow removal or winter maintenance will be removed at the owner’s expense.

Temporary, casual overnight parking is available in the East End Gateway parking lot at 282 Main Street, across from Willow Park. This is the only Town lot that permits overnight parking or parking during a snow event. 

Acadia University sells seasonal parking passes if you need a seasonal parking option.

Please be advised that starting in the afternoon on Monday, November 25 and into Tuesday, November 26, 2024, contractors will be working at the west end of Fowler Street. 

Residents will continue to have access to their driveways and there will be no water interruption.

The west public washroom at Railtown on Harbourside Drive is closed due to vandalism. The washroom was damaged overnight and will remain closed until repairs are complete.

A new recreation hub is now in Wolfville, beside the Harvest Moon Trailhead, after being installed in the East End Gateway Park earlier today. The new Rec Hub, located at 282 Main Street, across from Willow Park, will house the Town’s new equipment loan program, featuring 20 new bikes and many helmets.

The hub’s equipment loan program is intentionally launching with new bicycles as an important part of Wolfville’s active transportation development project. Wolfville’s Active Transportation Network will see more than 10 kilometres of routes created throughout the community in the years ahead.

The new bicycle fleet features many electrified models plus a specialized e-trike with bench seating to ensure every member of our community will have an opportunity to get around Town on the new network, that is being developed for all ages and abilities of users.

The recreation hub is housed in a former sea can and will be wrapped with bright graphics. During the warmer weather, staff will work from the space, coordinating equipment loans and group programming to get everyone comfortable with the idea of rolling and strolling along the active transportation network.

More details will be announced throughout the winter months with the official launch happening in the spring.
