In February, the Town announced a new Municipal Asset Naming Policy and now, the Town has received its first submission for consideration.
The name, Youseff Rafih (Joe), and the submission, is now posted for a period of 90-days as outlined by Policy 610-008, the Municipal Asset Naming and Renaming Policy.
The naming of municipal assets, including parks, streets and buildings, is a way to showcase history, heroes and community values.
In consideration of the Town’s commitment to equity and anti-racism, Wolfville will name and rename assets with a clear purpose: to provide a consistent and efficient process when naming or renaming municipal assets and for the Town to use asset naming as a means of redress and reconciliation.
