Street Closure & Detour

Wednesday, November 9, 2022


Residents on Main Street please be advised that Main Street between Laura Moore Road and Woodman Road will be closed to traffic starting at 8:00am Wednesday, November 9, 2022, for a service installation.

A detour will be setup, motorists travelling from the east will detour at Woodman Road and from the west will detour at Laura Moore Road. The detour will continue until the work has been completed.

You may contact the office at 902-542-5767 should you have any questions related to this service installation.

The overnight parking pilot that has been running in the East End Gateway Parking Lot will continue through the winter months.

This will be the one Town location exempt from the Winter Parking Ban.

Overnight parking will be permitted at this location for those who require short stay visitor parking and also, the parking is being provided to support those who wish to leave their car in Town overnight if they have consumed alcohol.

Compliance staff will be monitoring use of the lot. Vehicles using the lot on a regular basis can be ticketed. This lot is not for residents who lack permanent vehicle parking.

The pilot will allow Town staff an opportunity to determine how difficult snow removal is if cars are parked. The pilot can be halted if conditions or use are unfavourable.
