Floating Dock

The Town is installing a floating dock off the wharf at Waterfront Park this spring/summer.

A floating dock is being installed to improve access to the Minas Basin, a culturally and environmentally significant aspect of Wolfville. This will provide vessels and visitors with a safer marine access point to the town. The dock supports safer access to the water for recreational purposes (swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding etc) and is a nod to our history - this year is the 100th anniversary of the KIPAWO ferry.

Please note:

  • The floating dock will be connected to the wharf with two gangways (walkway leading from the wharf to the dock).
  • The Minas Basin experiences extreme tidal range. Gangway slope changes rapidly. Please use at your own risk. Please do not dive off of the dock or wharf.
  • The Minas Basin is very silty (muddy) and the dock and/or gangway may become slippery from silt.
  • Permanent mooring to the floating dock and wharf is prohibited. Docking is designated for single tide use only.
