The Town of Wolfville is inviting applications for a full-time, permanent Fire Department Operator/Fleet Services. This role ensures the safe operation, maintenance, and reliability of the Wolfville Volunteer Fire Department’s vehicles, firefighting apparatus, and related equipment, as well as supporting the custodial requirements of the building.
You will work closely with the Fire Chief, and volunteer members to keep the fleet and fire station ready at all times as well as contribute to broader departmental readiness, from equipment inspections and repairs to supporting training and fire prevention programs. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your mechanical skills in a community-focused role that directly supports the safety and well-being of Wolfville and surrounding communities.
We are seeking candidates with firefighting or mechanical experience, a strong technical background, and the ability to maintain and repair vehicles and equipment. The ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities is essential; please tell us about your experience in similar roles in your cover letter.

Please be advised that a part of Main Street from Gaspereau Avenue to Elm Street will be closed on October 18th, 2025 from 11:30am to 12:30pm due to the Homecoming Parade.
Wolfville is going to be busy in the weeks ahead with fall visitors, Acadia Homecoming, the Home Hardware Curling Pre-Trials and the Devour Food Film Fest.
These are all incredible events with lots of opportunities for community support and celebration but please give yourself lots of extra time when travelling to your destination as we expect increased traffic congestion.
For those driving into Town, public parking will be limited.
Temporary parking is being created on President’s Field, at Acadia University, but folks are reminded to carpool, to park further from the core and walk or please consider transit or forms of active transportation.

Notice of Scheduled Power Maintenance – October 19, 2025
Please be advised that Nova Scotia Power crews are scheduled to complete a transformer upgrade and perform line maintenance in the vicinity of 396 Main Street, Wolfville, on October 19th, between approximately 11:00 PM and 3:00 AM.
A backhoe will also be on-site to remove old utility poles. Please expect some noise during the first hour of this work while the pole is being removed.
All customers who maybe impacted by this outage will be contacted directly by Nova Scotia Power within the next few business days with further details.
