Forms and Applications

Nova Scotia Building Code changes effective Sept 1st, 2019

Adaptable Housing requirements in the Nova Scotia Building Code will take effect as of September 1st, 2019. These changes will be applicable for permits applied for after this date.

Adaptable housing makes it easier and less costly to adapt to the specific needs of residents as those needs evolve. Features such placing reinforcements in walls to allow for grab bar installation, lowering plumbing rough-ins for kitchen sinks and mounting electrical switches at accessible heights are all changes that have minimal costs during initial construction.

You can view a presentation of these highlights here .
