Isabel Madeira-Voss

Councillor

Councillor Isabel Madeira-Voss was born in Lisbon, Portugal. She came to Canada in 1961 and to Wolfville in 1987 when her husband accepted a Faculty position at Acadia University. Isabel enjoyed a 40-year career, focusing on adult education and community development, with the Toronto Board of Education, the Nova Scotia Department of Education, and the Nova Scotia Community College. She retired in 2017.

Isabel loves swimming, snowshoeing, and exploring the local trails with her dog, Hank. She loves travelling but is also delighted by our wonderful Wolfville offerings including great films, music, theatre, art and local food.

Isabel works closely with the Wolfville Business Development Corporation and enjoys a close connection to the local business community through her son, who is the owner and operator of The Market on Main Street.
